Seraph Ver (a.k.a. Lionhair)
Ver is the seraph most closely associated with soldiers, warriors, and those who crave battle. She was a warrior of unparalelled prowess in her mortal days, and her ascension to seraph only enflamed her bloodlust and battle frenzy.
Depictions
Ver is depicted as a large, dark-skinned, muscular woman in armor made from a white pelt with a mask of gold shaped like a lion’s face, gold bracers and gold about her shoulders, all symbolizing the golden blood of the divine lion Hamza. She is also often depicted with clawed hands, a mane of white hair, and etched or tattooed wings across her back and arms.History
Before the war, Ver is said to have been a gladiator, put in the ring to entertain the elven overlords, and placed on the front lines to fight for them when the conflict spread. But she soon found the opportunity to break free of the elves' control and become the wrath of the Red Queen personified. Ver was a warrior. Her prowess on the battlefield was only second to her fervor for battle. A fervor that inspired the warriors that fought beside her. During the War of Setting Suns, in the western lands of what is now Trandrafia, the dawn elf clerics had joined their collective wills and devotion to beseech the Truthbearer to send a divine servitor to guide their forces and take to the battlefield against the followers of the Red Queen for their fallen imperator, royals, soldiers, and all else. Aurin Valo sent forth Hamza, an enormous winged, white lion known as a “shirdal” of which he was called king, in response. Hamza was a ferocious foe, felling hundreds of Trandrafian warriors in the battles that followed. It was on the southeastern Ashfall plains near what is now called the Lion’s Plunge, that Ver met the divine lion in battle and slew him, bathing in his golden blood and carving his mane to wear as a headdress. This loss was devastating to the clerics who summoned him and dealt a blow to the forces and morale of the dawn elves that they never recovered from.
