The Cal Star System
Object Type
A wide binary star system.
Location
Embedded deep within one of the main spiral arms of the City of Stars, approximately 21,000 light years from the galactic core (compare with the estimated 27,000 light years of Earth from the centre of the Milky Way).
Components
Cal A, a type A6V blue-white star and Cal B, a type M2V red dwarf. A handful of planets orbit each of the stars; one of those orbiting Cal A is Calmarendi.
Cal B orbits at a considerable distance (150+ AU) around Cal A, well outside the orbits of the main star’s seven planets.
