Sanahit

Sanahit is the language spoken by Usefari. It has developed over the centuries by converging the multiple languages spoken by the trader tribes of the continent of Ra'dishra. As such it is quite diverse and each tribe contributed distinctive linguistic features according to their cultural strenghts. For example the mining tribes of the Motema Reach have established words for masonry and stonework, whereas the fishing tribes along the coastal regions developed the vocabulary for astronomy due to their sea-faring roots.
Compared to the Irimondian Common language, Sanahit can be described as more vivid or pictorial. Particularly names of places are conveyed by the use of rich metaphorical phrases or poetic meanings. For example, Iastradore's major trade district is called Atinafu's Blessing and the local scholars' and academics' district is called Path of Insight. The locale where Iastradore's traders and those dealing with them strike profitable trade deals, a vast complex of baldachin-covered nooks, cafés, fountained courtyards and hidden meeting rooms, is called the Gallery of Agreements. Taverns, inns or shops might be called Bekeba's Hand, Contract of Blades or Sarete's sumptuous Bouquet - precious spices and culinary specialties.
