Alava

Alava is a city nestled in the Iron Hills to the north of Levant. The city boasts the best smiths and iron workers of the region, and makes its wealth from the rich mines scattered within it's borders. Alavan steel is commonly regarded as the best steel that can be had in the region, and it holds enchantments longer than any other steel in the area. Alavan foot soldiers tend to be well trained and equipped, if slow compared to the slayers of Tartessos or the raiders of Vaccei. Fruit orchards and fields of grain keep Alava fed, and enough is produced that in good years, the Alavans can even trade food with their neighbor cities.
Lord Mansur Hassain rules Alava alone, having never married or declared an heir from a branch of his family. Mansur is known as a jovial dwarf with a relaxed attitude, but he takes his lordship seriously and is quick to draw a blade to satisfy honor or defend his city. Mansur is also devoutly religious, and has established lodges for The Lanterns in townships within his domain, as well as inviting Priests to join his court as advisors.
