Agents Of The Damned Plot

Ethan

Ethan is trying to free the Damned from Eural with the guidance of all of the Damned. He needs to wield their power to allow them back into Caladrius, there are weak moments between the barriers of Caladrius and Eural during solstices. He either needs to wield their amulet/heart or access their power at their holy site on a solstice night or on the full moon of their sacred month (Which might not happen if the moon does not line up). When he accesses their power on a solstice, he can trap it in a jar/amulet/box to hold until he is going to release the Damned. Being the chosen of Dyu, Ethan has the ability to handle all of their collective power for a limited time. However, forging the containment unit for the power is difficult as it has to replicate the essence of the specific damned, which is why it is taking a long time. There is a solstice every 7 months so it takes a long time that way as well. When Ronnie finally sees Ethan again, he plants doubt in all of their minds and they fight, yet they all return looking at everything differently.

Structure

Exposition

Characters are introduced. So is the home. Starts on the Calor solstice when Ethan accesses and contains the power of Swer. Ronnie felt this in the home and had a reaction. Simon is concerned and sends Ronnie and others to investigate what is happening.

Conflict

Ronnie is in the home and suddenly feels an overwhelming pressure pulling at her from all directions. She collapses in agony and power surges from within her. She wakes up surrounded by concerned faces. She is told that Simon wants to see her when she wakes and she goes to his office. She finds him holding her amulet studying it intensely. He tells her she is to go find out what happened and to take whoever she wants, but Esian is going with her. They argue as Ronnie does not want to bring someone she doesn't know, especially a Child. Simon eventually tells her enough and that his deciscion is final.

Rising Action

The group sets off from the Home and faces many dangers on the way. They visit different cities and realise that someone or something is trying to hinder their group.           They visit Endil to get supplies and speak to an old friend of Simon’s who has historical entries as to where Swer’s ancient holy site is. While in Endil, Esian sees how the poor are treated within the city walls and becomes upset about the situation. While there, he tries to give one some money, yet when they are leaving, the same person betrays them to Ethan so he can have a better life. Even though Esian was kind to the man, he learns that people will do what they need to to survive, even betray the only person who was kind to them. While in Endil, Ronnie sees Ethan talking with someone and doesn't believe her eyes. She cannot help but think about him throughout the journey.   They grow closer as friends throughout the journey and help Esian control his powers.They make it to Swer’s holy site after 3 months travelling and find Ethan waiting for them.

Climax

He reveals that his containment failed and Swer’s power exploded out and that's why Ronnie felt something. And so with Ronnie there he has rebuilt the containment and captures his essence that is magnified because of Ronnie’s presence. They try to capture him but he escapes back into Eural. He also reveals a little bit of his plan to test which of them he might be able to convert

Falling Action

Ronnie is enraged and devastated by learning of Ethan’s plans (She believes he is evil still, but doubt has twinged at her heart) The group makes camp after everything that has happened, and Ronnie meets with Swer via dreams.

Resolution

Switches to Ethan’s POV in Eural and him going over what happened and what their next moves are

Goals

The goals of the protagonists, Ronnie and Esian, are to investigate what happened at Swer's holy site and stop it from happening again. Once they discover that it is Ethan their new goal becomes to stop him at all costs.

Stakes

If they do not stop Ethan from releasing the Damned, they will bring back chaos and evil into Caladrius. It would also mean death for anyone who ever tried to stop their return. The Damned will sew discord into the minds of leaders, pollute rivers, and bring waste to all.

Moral Quandaries

When it starts to point to Ethan being behind everything, she struggles to accept it. She deals with her anger and disappointment that he would do this.  When Ronnie and Ethan start fighting, Ronnie understands that she must stop him from succeeding at all cost, and so she tries to kill him. In the moment, due to her anger and disbelief at what Ethan says, she does not hesitate. Afterwards, she feels guilty for coming so close to taking a life and wonder what happened to her to make her this way.

Cruel Tricks

While in Endil, Esian sees how the poor are treated within the city walls and becomes upset about the situation. While there, he tries to give one some money, yet when they are leaving, the same person betrays them to Ethan so he can have a better life. Even though Esian was kind to the man, he learns that people will do what they need to to survive, even betray the only person who was kind to them.

The prologue starts out in Sheh'yuh  Chapter one starts out in the Everen Forest  Ronnie starts out in the Home with Simon and the others. They eventually make their way to Endil. They eventually get to Swert holy site.  The book ends with Ethan back in Eural discussing his next steps with Dyu.

Past Events

We see a flashback of when Esian is discovered to have the blood. This happens when he is running through the Everen Forest. 
After Ronnie and Ethan fight, she dreams of when he left the home.
