Ardunan Parliament
The Parliament of Ardun was the supreme legislative body of the Kingdom of Ardun between the dawn of the Steel Age and the Ardunan Revolution . It evolved from the Peerage Councils of the rust age, as feudalism began to give way to the rise of a centralized Ardunan state, but was initially a purely advisory council. It was only after the Penhallow War that parliament became a democratic institution with authority over the state and the power to check the king's command.
In December of 1242, parliament would be dissolved for the last time by General Aaron Crowley in a military coup to put Prince Morryn IV in power with renewed executive authority. The Ardunan Parliament was replaced with a provisional Council of Peers, composed of about 100 loyalist MPs with mostly ceremonial powers.
After the syndicalist victory in the Ardunan Civil War, parliament was replaced by the Trade Union Congress.
