The Lady Character in Caerwyn | World Anvil

The Lady

(a.k.a. The Provider, the Moon Goddess, the Risen, Xeri, Héri, The Walker of the Woods)

The Lady is one of the Five - the quintumvirate of Divine beings that make up the highest group of Gods in Caerwyn. The Lady is a matron Goddess and a huntress. Her domains are those of Nature, Tempests, and Unity.

The Fae

The Lady rules over the wooded and wild places of the world, holding a deep connection with the Fae. It's said that when Thakuth renounced their Demonic birth, The Lady gave them Plane Render, a sword sharp enough to cut through the planar fabric. Thakuth carved out the Fae realm and used their power to create the first Fae. It's said that The Lady holds court with Thakuth often, a bold theory, given the general absence of the Gods in daily Mortal life.

Other Cultures

The Elves, caretakers of the forests, have a deep connection to The Lady. They call her Héri and they believe her to be the creator of the First Elves.   The many varied culture of the Diasporic Races, The Lady is worshipped as a purveyor of knowledge, a provider of safety, and a deliverer of justice. Icons of The Lady are often placed above the hearth in homes, where they are believed to protect the inhabitants of a home.
