The Five

In the final days of the Ancients, the world was on the edge of total destruction. The Five, a collection of three mortal Ancients sacrificed themselves to save the world and, in doing so, became gods. With them, they brought one other mortal, a child, and a constructed conciousness to assist them in the work to come. They sowed the beginnings of the Ayae from the chaotic weave of reality and merged their own conciousnesses into it. There they rested until the seeds of creation they planted began to take root. The races of the world were born and each of the Five awoke to hold dominion over the areas they knew best. It's said that in the old days, the gods were much more present, helping to guide and push the new world towards some goal. In recent eras, they have become more silent. Stories still arise, telling of close encounters with the gods but it seems they have mostly decided to let the world take it's own course.
