Friends with Nate Fleming all of his life, he knew that something was going on with Nate after he found out about his heart conditon and had the surgery to fix it.
It was after everything went down between Nate, Natalie Fleming, and Amethyst Cannon, that Zed realized what had been going on.
Even as others (especially Nate's family) turned away, Zed stayed true to his friend and was there for him.
