Anatomy
They are large red octopus in the water, somewhat misshapen due to the different tide stresses between their homeworld and Caelum Prime.
They have genes and extra ligaments to allow them to change shape, as well as the capability to breath in both air and water.
On land, they turn into a tiger-like creature but the proportions are (again) not right. They're back ends look more like a pug's instead of a tiger's.

Mainly the ocean, especially on Caelum Prime.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Four eyes. Two are green and stationary. The other two are white and can move around their body. They see everything even when they aren't visibe to Humans.
Civilization and Culture
History
They came from a galaxy that they have depleted of resources. They are an agressive species that take over planets, devestate resources and then move on.
When they got to Caelum Prime, they found a world that was just different enough that they couldn't overrun it immediately. They happened to get caugt in the currents, only being able to surge forward and make landfall at Safe Harbor once a year.
They abducted several members of the Inua Nara for several years to study them. Leaving the bodies on the beach, the Kru'val went back to the sea every time. The fourth time, they were confronted by the Inua Nara, on mass, and the war started.
The Kru'val get just enough food from the ocean to survive. But they are endlessly locked in battle with the Inua Nara of Safe Harbor.
