History

In the ancient folklore, the kitsune were once revered as divine spirits, emissaries of the gods, guiding lost souls and bestowing blessings. However, as time passed and the world evolved, the nature of the kitsune changed.   No longer content to serve humanity as benevolent messengers, the kitsune grew envious of mortal pleasures and desires. They began to seek out girls with vibrant imaginations, drawn to the creative energy that flowed within them. With cunning deceit, the kitsune would manipulate their way into the households of these chosen girls, promising prosperity and protection in exchange for their hospitality.   For nine years, the kitsune would dwell with their chosen hosts, weaving intricate dreams for the chosen girl and making her mine gems that the Kitsune would eat. Their lies, most popular of right an ancient wrong against animals, would keep them in the household because the family would want to restore honor and balance. No matter what happens to the girl, the Kitsune would get to stay. If the girl tried to complain or get away, she was severly punished by the Kitsune.   However, when the nine years drew to a close, the kitsune were bound by ancient laws to relinquish their hold and depart for Harmony Veil. Here, amidst solemn shrines and flickering lanterns, they would serve penance for their deceitful ways, aiding lost souls in finding their path to the afterlife.   Yet, the fate of the kitsune was not always sealed by the passage of time alone. Should a child meet an untimely demise before the completion of the nine-year cycle, the kitsune's future would be determined by the manner of death. In some cases, they would attach themselves to another girl, perpetuating their cycle of deception. In others, they would be condemned to join their brethren in the realm of purgatory, facing the consequences of their actions for eternity.
