OSC1: Briskwater Bash
General Summary
After resting up from battling the githyanki shore party, our adventurers followed their nose westward toward an amber-smelling encampment. The lurid sound of washboard and jug led the group into the frigid foothills where Lord Bumpy Coleman sat with song in his heart and gab in his mouth. After a somewhat awkward introduction (where Undercommon is substituted with 'jive', yes I'm sorry), they hearkened forth into Briskwater, a scrounged together port made of flotsam and shipwrecks.
Upon entering the settlement, the group packed in a frozen general store stocking up on rations and amenities for their journey. Amare inquired about getting back to the mainland, namely Otway. The party was thusly sent to the Briskwater Bar, the settlement's pub and namesake. While inside, our heroes fell into Oirkeer, the elf that fled during their battle on the Moonlight Chaser. He seemed shaken but heavily inquired about their silver sword offering pardon and safe passage to Otway in exchange for it. After a little bit of drinking, hi-jinks, and theft, the crew marched out to their hired Dragonborn boat and helped Orikeer load his crate of cargo.
The next night, tired and hopeful to escape this icy waste, Orikeer is heard by many attempting to place a drunk Irma into his large crate. Unsuccessful, Orikeer then successfully stuffs Bumpy into the crate where much rustling and 'bumping' ironically begins. Seriphina stabs the elf briefly causing him to come to his senses and exclaim that they should back off as 'this is something way bigger than any of us'. Unconvinced, Amare and Seriphina push Orikeer aside opening the crate to reveal Bumpy's fate: a massive octopus-humanoid affixed to Bumpy's lifeless body sucking out his brains. Amare and Succ wrestle the corpse from the mind flayer as the real conflict begins...
