C1 Session 5 (short)
General Summary
When we last left our heroes, the Lamia’s tomb had sloughed its illusion revealing its true nature: a catacomb of tortured, mangled bodies decaying. Torque for some reason decided to lick blood on the wall instead of wrenching like everyone else. They also discovered a treasure horde along the back wall. Pocketing what they could find, including a strange bracer shield-thing Yeezy picked up, the gang spoke with the tiefling, Corvin of the Goatmen. Corvin divulges his purpose of recovering the Flag of Mephistal and speaks a bit about the Elven Crusade and the Tiefling Pact with the gnomes. He also mentions not seeing a ‘house’ on the map anymore. As the group leaves the ‘Fucked up Cave of Wonders’, it collapses back into the sand and Corvin bids farewell.
After half a day, Erky’s internal bleeding causes him to collapse and the team does the impossible: creating a makeshift infirmary that would make Korean War MASH unit blush. The patient consents to be put into a coma and holy shit if they don’t actually heal him completely. Seriously, holy shit. They clean the area, incise, cauterize the ruptured intercostal vein, reattach the severed ribs with advantage, bails spilled blood out of the body cavity, and seal the incision without scarring. Hell, even Torque is healed of a magical disease that would have turned him into a Lamia thrall. I’m surprised Gadaffi didn’t get a contact heal for his potential stroke.
The team recomposes themselves and finally happens upon a temple above a running river. Re-hydrating and sensing the religious and arcane magic from the temple, our heroes venture forward…
