Scorland

Structure

  1. King
  2. The Righ
  3. The Morairean

Culture

Scorlanders are fiercely independent people. Had it not been for the War of the Wilds there wouldn't even be a unified Scorland. Loyalty is greatly tied to ancestral lands and clans, King Edrigar Foruhn holds these peoples together by way of collective acceptance, and a mutual need for central control in the name of defense of Scorland.

Disbandment

With the rise of the Cult of the Dark Dreamer at Mt. Gaulmar and the undead plauge set upon it by Arizanthuul, Scorland could no longer be considered a kingdom. King Edrigar Gribi attempted to secretly request support from Umenor, but none ever arrived. If that was due to the civil war or some other intrigue, there are more rumors than facts at this point. When none came, the King of Scorland knew the end was nigh and gave those who continued to support him a choice, to stand together and perish at the hands of the Cult of the Dark Dreamer, or flee. Most who had joined him when he retreated from Mt. Gaulmar remained at his side, and when the Cult of the Dark Dreamer came, died there.

Territories

198k square miles of land, the harshest in the region. These are the last holdouts of humans not yet subjected by the Empire on the mainland. Only 18% of this land is actually arable, driving a heavy diet of hunted, raised, or fished meat.

Military

This army specializes in overpowering the enemy with war mammoths, huge creatures with a battlement atop them, holding archers and crossbowmen inside. Utilizing these for shock value, coupled with manuverable light infantry, they can cause a lot of fear and strategic problems for an enemy.

Religion

As is the case everywhere in the region, the Kingdom of Scorland worships the Spirits, though differently than the Empire and Jhordheim.

Agriculture & Industry

There is a large peat industry and freshwater pearl harvesting. Farming is difficult in this part of the region due to its cold temperatures and hilly terrain. Monster hunting is also a common industry, as the hills easily hide monstrous creatures of many sizes.

Infrastructure

Due to Scorlands very independent past, there was no standard for infrastructure found everywhere. Roads tend to be dirt paths that form from frequent travel, and not maintained by any governmental entity. Since the end of the war and the unification of Scorland, there is a desire to improve the infrastructure of Scorland, but the current crisis is presenting difficulty with such endeavors.
