Cult of the Dark Dreamer

Structure

Public Agenda

The cult makes no effort to hide their intention of controlling all life in the region. However, their power is limited in scope for now.

Assets

Ka-Kakorum, the abandoned Dwarfhold is now under the control of the cult. Its mines now connect to the warrens of the Kobolds Ausdremwuld now holds under his influence, who are amassing a massive treasure hoard for him. In addition to the Kobolds that serve and worship Ausdremwuld, the chromatic Dragonborn have awoken from chrysalis and are gathering at Mt. Gaulmar.

History

Ausdremwuld had attempted to create his cult through the Dwarves that had found his prison, but Dwarves are not easily influenced and ended up fighting each other and finally fleeing their Dwarfhold. It was many years before Ausdremwuld encountered the Kobolds of the area, and easily overpowered their wills. He began to instruct them on finding the orb that served as the key to his imprisonment, unknowing that Zindraaldein had ensured another way to free him. His prophet, Zik Sharpclaw, was sent to seek out the orb, and obtain it.   It turned out unnecessary however, as adventurer's spoke his name and broke the prison that bound him beneath the mountain. An eruption occured, and now Ausdremwuld assembles forces to face the undead that infest the land around Mt. Gaulmar.

Priesthood

Power is established through the amount of power that Ausdremwuld grants to those who follow him. The Prophet is the Kobold that Ausdremwuld chooses to benefit most, and is granted extraordinary arcane power. The Prophet then decides who are his priests, who are granted a lesser amount of power, but a significant amount nonetheless. Acolytes are those who are intent on learning those powers and one day being granted them, sycophants and hangers on, usually.
