Monaima Ting (/ˈmɔnaima tiːŋ/ Elvish)
History
For those old enough to remember, the Immortal Master of the Way of Shadow Zunnen was a wise and powerful monk, so much so it is said he could project his spirit into other worlds. He was on one of these journeys when the mists arrived, trapped in the Astral Sea. The monks of the Monaima Ting worried for him and the body he had left behind and sent out for help. The Arch-Magi of Umenor at the time answered the summons. They and their mage retainers turned Zunnen's physical body to stone, preserving it till such a time as the Immortal Master of the Way of Shadow returned. The price of this was the monks allegience, and over time the organization transformed into The Ninth Unknown.
Tenets of Faith
The Monaima Ting was established to combat the foul darkness of the self. In its teachings, the Way of Shadow is meant to embrace that which is darkest, in order to never be afraid of what lurks there. To face fear and the unknown without hesitation.
