Kaiden and Riia Li become very sick, experiencing things like exhaustion, muscle weakness, and their skin flashing from their normal skin color to blue. Their older brother, Phillip Li, calls on the Guardians to try and figure out what is happening. After some tests, the Guardians find out that the essence crystal pieces in Kaiden and Riia seem to be reacting violently to something, although they can't figure out what. Then, one day after one of his involuntary knock outs, Kaiden wakes up and tells the Guardians that the twins are coming for them. Turns out, in these random times of rest, Kaiden and Riia would see the twins and be able to connect and talk to them somehow. After this reveal, the Guardians and Phillip agree that it'd be safer to have Kaiden and Riia be monitored at the Guardians base while they deal with the twins.
