Lady Adwen of Burcombe

Lady Adwen ͏͏͏͏

This article is about the lady of Burcombe. For the player character, see Sir Amlyn of Winterbourne Stoke. For the twins of Hallington, see Arwen of Hallington or Alwyn of Hallington.   Adwen was a lady from Logres and the wife of Sir Jarren of Burcombe.   She was the beautiful young daughter of the late Sir Bles, and was previously ward of Earl Roderick of Salisbury.   In addition to Burcombe, she owned five manors in Salisbury and several vassal knights.   She was not on friendly terms with Sir Amlyn for years for standing her up while he squired under her father. Initially hostile to Sir Artaire, she was courted by him for many years until Sir Jarren of Burcombe bested him in a duel over her.   She married Sir Jarren, but killed herself after discovering she was pregnant with Sir Artaire's child in 488.
