Black Annis

Black Annis is a demonic cannibalistic hag that lives in a cave in Leicester Forest.
Black Annis has bright blue skin, sharp teeth and long iron claws. Often mistaken for a faerie, she is believed to actually be an incarnation of the Hindu goddess Kali, who is known in the Pagan pantheon as the Destroying Goddess. She may have once been a human who was possessed by the goddess.
She is the most powerful hag in Britain, to the point where "annis" has become synonymous with "hag".
Sir Gwyn the Witch Hunter, Ralf, King Pellinore de Galis, and Sir Artaire of Idmiston encountered Black Annis while looking for Tydfil the Witch.
