Elves
Elves are an interesting race, physically indistinguishable from Men. They are slow to age, living
hundreds of years. Equally at home in the wilderness or the city, Elves are masters of concealment.
While not as populous as Men, Elves are found wherever Men are.
Children age and develop much as Men do, although puberty doesn't begin until the late twenties.
Adult responsibilities begin, in small doses, around fifteen or sixteen years old.
Elves are skilled at tracking, evasion, observation, and silent movement. Designed as scouts and
spies for the Great Wars, Elves can blend in easily in any environment and with any population.
Much of the history of the world is known only because of the Elves, with their near-perfect
memories and unimaginably long lifespans. Ancient technology - or at least the theories behind it -
also survived the Great Wars, locked in the memories of the Elves. Some things, like the handguns
carried by the first Elves and the stores of ammunition, have been carefully tended, maintained,
and hoarded.
There is no such thing as a half-Elf. A child of an Elf and a non-Elf will either inherit the
enchantments which separate Elves from Men, or she will not. While such relationships are
uncommon, children of Elf-nonElf unions may be a mixed assortment - some will be Elves, but others
will not.
