Dwarves
Dwarves are a slow-moving, steady race. Friendly and open, they are the ultimate craftsmen. Known
for their skills in weaving, ceramics, and needlecraft as much as their metalwork and jewels,
Dwarves also love gardening.
Dwarves spent most of the Upheaval underground, learning to mine and tunnel and shape. As a
result, the first generations to emerge from their caves had severe agoraphobia. Subsequent
generations largely overcame this, but claustrophobia was common. The Dwarves therefore
abandoned their underground cities in favor of the nearby forests.
Today, Dwarves live in sprawling forest cities, incorporating the trees into their architecture. They
are still considered the experts on mining and tunneling, though they rarely practice these crafts
on their own. All Dwarves enjoy working with their hands, whether they're carving wood and stone,
or weaving and spinning, or working with metal and gems. Produce from a Dwarvish garden is
universally held to be the best, and is, like all their products, in high demand.
