Orcs and Goblins
Orcs and Goblins are two sides of the same coin. Orcs, huge and strong, are constantly feuding
with the lean and swift Goblins. No one is certain what caused the feud, but it is brutal and vicious.
It is fueled in part by accusations of child-stealing, accusations which are completely unfounded.
The nature of these two races is such that a couple of one race can give birth to a child of either
race.
Children of these races are seldom raised by their own parents. The constant warfare has resulted
in a communal approach to everything, including child-rearing. Children and possessions belong to
the tribe, and everyone has an equal share. Elders, those rare individuals who were not killed in
battle before old age incapacitated them, are in charge of educating and caring for the children.
Once it is clear that a child is not of the tribe, they are expelled. Hunters take them far into the
wilderness, usually within enemy territory, and leave them. These abandoned children often die of
exposer or starvation, or are killed either by wild animals or hunters who mistake them for game.
Often the children are found, however, and taken into a tribe of their won kind. These rescued
children are absorbed into the tribe and treated no differently than the tribe's other children.
