Lore
Known as the Platinum Dragon,
Bahamut is the Lawful Good patron of the
Dragonborn and Father of
Dragons. In the Dawn Age, Bahamut and
Tiamat united to create the first
Dragons, bringing into existence a powerful and noble species.
Although he largely stayed out of the
God War, Bahamut joined the battle against
Tiamat, opposing her ambition and cruelty. His decision to refrain from further involvement led to him being considered one of the
Outsider Deities, standing outside the established divine hierarchies alongside other powerful but unaffiliated gods.
Patron of Justice and Honor
Bahamut is revered for his unwavering commitment to justice and honor. His followers, especially among the
Dragonborn, view him as an ideal to emulate, standing as protectors and champions of righteousness. Those in need of courage or guidance often look to
Bahamut for support, believing that his spirit endows them with the strength to face their challenges with honor.
Relations with Tiamat
Bahamut’s relationship with
Tiamat, the Chromatic Queen, is one of deep-rooted opposition. Although they created the first
Dragons together, their values could not be more divergent.
Bahamut’s commitment to justice and protection stands in stark contrast to
Tiamat’s ambition and greed. This rivalry shapes the moral and ethical choices of
Dragons and
Dragonborn, as each faction chooses to follow the ideals of one deity over the other.
Role Among the Outsider Deities
Although
Bahamut is not officially part of
The Prime Pantheon, he remains a significant spiritual figure for many who seek justice and honor. As an
Outsider Deity, he is often revered by those who value his ideals but prefer an independent path outside the
Prime Pantheon. It is common for those in need of strength or guidance to offer a quick prayer to
Bahamut, especially when seeking justice or protection. His influence remains a vital part of the spiritual landscape, bridging formal hierarchies with his steadfast commitment to honor and courage.
