Geography
The desert lays in the southern part of Boomal. The western region neighbors the Sea of Green, and transitions from a lush forest to a driy savannah, which gets cut by large sand dunes.
The center is the most arid part of the desert, and the only things sticking out of the sand are small, rocky plateaux.
In the East though, the desert recieves a few rains part of the year, and life can develop.
Fauna & Flora
The eastern desert hosts a variety of tough succulents, and heat-adapted animals (mainly insects)
In the centre, the only life forms that survive are plants that live at the top of the rocky formations, managing to catch the few amounts of air moisture brought by the wind.
An iconic animal of the desert is the large Acoccus exodus (fam. Acoccids ). This species undertakes a large-scale migration every eight year from the Sea of Green towards the western desert to lay their eggs.
After reproduction, A. exodus parents die on their nests and their stiffened bodies protect the brood. Once hatched, hatchlings that only weigh a few grains produce long silk threads and are carried by the wind on the opposite trip, towards the foothills of the Sea of Green .
