Mad Dog vs Sunny

The Mad Dog vs Sunny feud was a long standing rivalry between two landowners who had large grain farms on the outskirts of Salike. Arthur "Mad Dog" Zoggat and Ispeth "Sunny" Quinn were both very successful and owned the two largest farms on the plains. Their land stood next to each other and there were constant disputes over boundaries and customer base. The feud had gone on for several years with no more than harsh words and some light vandalism, however eight years ago something happened which caused the long standing disagreement to turn more violent.   Before this fateful event there had been no bloodshed, the most that had occured was some sabotaging of machinery, moving of fence lines, stealing of customers and various other methods of trying to undermine each other. The other landowners had become rather fed up with the constant strife between the two and had, on several occasions, tried to convince them to put an end to it, but to no avail.   Things took a turn for the worse one spring morning eight years ago, when Mad Dog was awoken in the early hours to one of his grain fields on fire. He blamed Sunny for the destruction, and even though she swore she had nothing to do with it, he swore he would get his revenge. The following morning Sunny was similarly awoken to one of her hay barns on fire. Needless to say she blamed Mad Dog, and it was his turn to protest his innocence, saying she had set the fire herself just so she could blame him. A full tavern had heard him swear his revenge.   The fires caused both of them significant loss of earnings for that years harvest and each demanded compenation from the other. As neither had any intention of paying the other, things began to get very heated with threats of violence being issued if the other didn't pay up. Sunny even went so far as to send some of her workers to go demand the money from Mad Dog at weapon pont. However Mad Dog had already hired help of his own to guard his lands and had given orders to attack any of Sunny's people on sight.   The initial confrontation ended with several wounded on both sides and the death of one of Sunny's workers. It was at this point that the other landowners beseeched the City to intervene before more lives were lost. Realising that this feud was starting to get out of hand the City sent a squad of soldiers out to the farmlands. They arrived just in time to prevent another fight and promptly arrested all those involved. They issued warnings to both Mad Dog and Sunny: any further bloodshed or fighting would result in them also being arrested and their lands stripped from them.
