Blistery Belt

The Blistery Belt is the name for the collection of deserts and wastelands in the southwest of Ghrebam. No country currently claims ownership of the area, nor would any have any particular reason to. It is ruled by warlords and their eccentric bands of marauders, riding from one place to another on Steel Carriages, locally known as "Belchers." The Sujeze River runs along the far north, its flood plains a welcome sight for any lost in the desert. The deserts are bordered by the Cormorant Mountains on the east and the Neverly Mountains to the south.

Climate

The Blistery Belt is extremely dry and hot. It is both located near the equator, far from any cooling ocean currents, and, save the occasional rare oasis, it is mostly devoid of trees and other plant life. Creatures not adapted to the severe heat risk serious harm and even death from spending even a few hours out in the mid-day sun.

Natural Resources

While the Blistery Belt is mostly wasteland, it is very rich in sources of Black Rock, both solid and liquid.

History

There are ruins of a long-gone civilization found all over the Blistery Belt, suggesting that perhaps the area was once not as barren and inhospitable as it is now.
