Simon Whitemount, more widely known as the 'Bastard of Knightsmire', is the bastard son of Edward Whitemount and a prostitute living in Lylelor. His status as a bastard has led to great resentment between him and his family, despite attempts to include him in House Whitemount. His younger siblings are Arther and Eleyna. He has, however, found an ally in Earl Jasper Blackborough.
