Sheu Blulchur Settlement in Binaka | World Anvil

Sheu Blulchur (/ʃyu.ˈblʌlʧʌɹ/)

Sheu Blulchur is the capital city of the nation of Nuerruoddel. While the tournament city of Nezhgub gets all the attention, Sheu Blulchur is the center of the Nuerruoddel nation, the home of the government, the Prime Minister, and center of trade. It is here that the Buezh is minted. It is here the rules are made, the decisions and proclamations, and the most important legal rulings. It is also home to some of the finest architecture designed by Zhequoo Ebdug.

History

In 1772 CT, shortly after the founding of Nuerruoddel, Mbode Wemuezh and the other leaders determined that they need a central location to meet. So they found an existing town that had infrastructure leading to it (roads and the like) and started building.   The existing residents, as is usual in such situations, were split on whether they liked the idea. All were compensated with coin. They were also offered homes in the residential area of the new city. Many accepted. Others chose to move. The homes were made to the individuals' specifications, within reason. Those who stayed and capitalized on the opportunity had a leg up in forming new businesses or joining the business of government. Those who chose to move where fully compensated for their expenses of moving, in addition to the initial compensation for having to leave their homes.   The town was officially renamed Sheu Blulchur, meaning "the capital" and opened for business on a spring day in 1775 CT.   The construction of the city was, according to future architect Zhequoo Ebdug, "bland". So in 1812 CT he convinced Zuenooz Wemuezh, the prime minister at the time, to agree to a renovation project. Over the next 25 years, Zhequoo oversaw the demolition of five existing buildings and the construction of 12 more, all of his design. Zhequoo constructed several more buildings for the city over the course of his lifetime. It was watching the initial work during his youth that inspired Meuzhzel Wemuezh to request Zhequoo's assistence in building Nezhgub, shortly after the completion of the initial project.

Architecture

This is where Zhequoo Ebdug pioneered and later perfected his Lwebloozhum /ˈlwɛbluːʒʌm/ or Onion Tower designs. There are no less than 10 lwebloozhum-style towers that stand over 30m in the city, as well as many smaller towers. Much of the remaining architecture is also signature Ebdug style, the graceful curves of buildings that are wider than they are tall, due to the various construction projects he oversaw, well after the initial creation of the city.
