Twi-folk
The Twi-folk (also known as Fey) are a collection of supernatural beings from one of the Twilight Planes, the Dawnlands or the Dusklands. Generally they have close ties to nature and primal forces. Most Twi-folk have the ability to modify their appearance, so their classification is generally by ability and personality.
The Twi who reside in the Dawnlands are known as the Fairfolk, and are generally good or neutral, though their views on mortal's and the material world are complicated, but generally they will help more than harm. The Twi from the Dusklands are the Shadefolk, and are usually evil or neutral, preying on the material realm, and taking joy from suffering, and many making use of necromantic powers.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
While generally free, when push comes to shove a few powerful individuals known as the Great Twi have control over most of the fey and are practically as powerful as the Percanea. The Great Twi operate in opposing Courts, the Fair Court, and the Shade Court. These courts are rivals, and are opposed on a personal level, though rarely openly competing.
Beauty Ideals
Beauty has the highest standards among most Twi-folk, and as most can easily change their shape this is usually not an issue, though what is beautiful can vary from Twi to Twi.
Gender Ideals
As non mortal beings, gender is fluid, though some of the Twi-Folk limit themselves to presenting as one gender. Most Twi have a prefered presentation though change to fit the circumstance. For example most Nymphs appear as females humanoids, but may adopt other forms as they see fit.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The Twi-folk are not gods, celestials or fiends, though many Twi find themselves in service to gods or fiends. All Twi-folk are aloof, and have little care for most mortals, though some mortals who stand out can draw their favor or ire. It is not uncommon for Twi-folk to test and tease mortals, taking joy in playing pranks or giving riddles, some deadly, some harmless depending on disposition. They can prove powerful if unreliable allies, or deadly and mercurial rivals.
