Verithex

A fortress belonging to Konos that was built on the northern borders with The Wild Lands in 898. It served as the protective hub of a number of small Konos settlements in the region, defending the area against hostile incursions by barbarians from the north.
In 962 the Isti tribes in The Wild Lands near Verithex were united under a powerful leader, the sorcerer Wilga, who led a succession of raids across the border and after burning the nearest settlements surged over the walls of Verithex during an unnaturally prolonged night and slaughtered everyone within who was not able to flee.
The fortress has been left in ruins ever since despite the area being reconquered several years later. The ghosts of Verithex are unquiet things.
