The Forsaken

Background

The Forsaken are a group of 4 elves that murdered Thrnduil’s cousin, Filnar. After traveling to Dol Guldor, Filnar turned to darkness and attempted to corrupt the four. After resisting, they let him go. He traveled the wood and later beset a family on the outskirts of Mirkwood, killing them and taking their possessions. The Forsaken tracked him down and killed him.

The Betrayers

Despite their good intentions, Thranduil instead banished them. It is not clear whether he did so out of rage or commitment to duty, as elven law called for the four to request the king’s permission before hunting one of their own.

Allies & Associates

For their sin, The elves, two women and two men, do not have names. Instead they refer to themselves only as The Forsaken and typically in the third person. They have committed themselves to doing good and just work in and around the borders of their homeland of Mirkwood.
