Helena Barnim
Helena is the second wife of Jacobsen Barnim, with some 25 years separating the two. They were married 4 years ago, after Jacobsen had already taken ownership of The Skyline Motel. She came to the Motel injured from a severe vehicle accident that killed her two partners in a market hunting operation. Jacobsen helped mend her shattered leg and let her remain at the motel "indefinitely". That "indefinitely" has turned into just that, as Helena fell in love with the older Jacobsen with his kindness, tenacity, and just general inflapitude. The two make for a strange couple, as Helena is as quick tempered as Jacobsen is level. She handles most of the customer interactions, day-to-day operations of the motel, and "security" as needed. Her accident has left her with a lame right leg, needing a cane to move around or, on the worse days, a metal and leather splint to help support her injured leg. She carries an old Para-Ordance .45 Auto pistol, a relic of Earth That Was, in a shoulder holster under her jacket or work coat.
Helena became a victim of the "Kimber" Snatcher after it had taken over Jacobsen. As he was supposedly lying down "not feeling well", the Snatcher quickly jumped hosts, leaving Jacobsen in a rather obvious state of distress. Helena was the final known host of the Snatcher and nothing is known of what occurred after the Scraphawks drove away from the burning motel.
