The Skyline Motel
The Skyline Motel is a "renovated" roadside motel near what used to be Sharpsville, IN. The motel only retains about half of the original structure
much of the roof has been replaced, some of the room walls have been patched or replaced entirely, etc. Only a couple rooms still have their original glass and in all cases these have been closed over with rusting iron bars. The motel maintains 14 units as well as a rather large sized front office/"tavern". The original sign still stands, but the word "Sharpsville" has been crossed out and the name "Skyline" written underneath.
The Skyline Motel is named so as it sits directly below the Skyline, a large Ley Line that languidly pulses some hundred feet or so above the motel. The motel has a structure just behind it that reaches up most of the way towards the Ley Line, with occasional flashes of brilliant purple-blue "lightening" flashing down to a brass-colored ball on the top of the structure. This was built by the Artificer Thomas L. Sanders 9 years ago (his brother Humbert was the owner of the motel at the time) as a power collector. Lights, water pumps, Chillers, and a converted oven all run off the trickle stream of line energy this collection tower pulls. This makes the Skyline Motel one of the most technologically advanced structures west of the [Toledo City-State. Understandably, this makes the Skyline a popular stop-over point for travelers, traders, and the generally lost. The current owners, Jacobsen Barnam and his wife Helena, accept pretty much anyone into the Motel as long as they pay their bill and leave the rest of the guests in peace.
After the removal of a module that controls and distributes the power that is pulled from the Skyline, the Motel caught fire and eventually burned to the ground. Very little of the Artificer technology used in the building has survived the fire.
