Maifina Temple

This temple to Ilusi can be found within the city of Oxbow after the siege of Oxbow in 1148 created a powerful magic field in the area that persists to this day. While it is not the grandest or largest temple in Beru, it is the strangest as it floats unteathered to the ground and is filled with swirling lights and smoke.

Purpose / Function

Originally founded as a small shrine to Marina for the growing sailing and fishing industries this temple now honours Ilusi.

Alterations

In 1102 the town was hit by a vicious storm from the north that lasted a tenday, and led to the distruction of numerous homes and businesses. The temple's original wooden roof was torn off on the third day and over the following days the inside was ruined with heavy rains and brutal winds. 
The original wooden structure was then surrounded by a larger stone structure with a domed roof to prevent the wind from gripping it from any particular side. 
The new outer structure was made from limestone and imported Heartwood timber accents, with thin windows of reinforced glass with tarnished copper shutters on the outside. 
After the siege of 1148, the temple now floats above the town and is surrounded with iridescent smoke that never blows away, obfuscating the structure. The only way for one to now reach the temple is through magical means, either one's own or donating to the temple and having a priest ferry you there.

Tourism

Many followers of Ilusi now treat this temple as a pilgramidge point
