Glasswater Temple
Purpose / Function
The temple was founded and constructed by followers of Marina seperate from the Temple of the Gods in the southern section of the city to give her followers a private place for worship.
Architecture
Made from siltstone standing 50ft high with a steeple point this structure has a small observation point high up for the high priest to gaze upon the lake. The building is nearly 100ft long and 40ft wide with a domed roof decorated with blues and greens in swirling patterns. The structure has cloth sails pinned to the outer walls that face the lake which are covered in patches with names of ships upon them. These patches represent a ship out on the lake that has never returned over the years.
The interior is lit by candles and Lightrocks and the air is filled with the scent of seasalt and burning herbs. There are benches for communion and private spaces for more intimate worship.
History
The temple was built after a terrible storm ravaged the lake, sinking over thirty ships in a single night. Many of Marina's followers protested in the street saying that the Temple of the Gods did not give enough praise to Marina despite the cities relience on her domain.
