Shaddai Character in Beren'Dor | World Anvil

Shaddai

There is but one god, Shaddai, and he is known to all. It is from his expressions of creation that his children, the other gods, were born. They are facets, or aspects, of him. What he knows, they know, and what they know, he knows. They move in concert with him, a choir that orchestrates the multiverse.

Shaddai's children are not defined by concepts of good or evil. Those things are constructs of the lesser races. How can a god be either good or evil when they have the capability of defining that which is good, and that which is evil? Rather, they merely exist, much like primal forces of nature. While some gods seem to care more about the welfare of Shaddai's creations, others pay them no attention at all, and instead attend to those domains to which they are given responsibility for.

Divine Domains

The Father of creation. The one God. The Holy One.

Tenets of Faith

Shaddai is eternal. He has no beginning, and no end. He is omnipotent, omnicient, omnipresent and immutable. He fills from everlasting to everlasting. He made room for the multiverse, and then spoke it into being. His domain is not restricted. All power and authority flows from him.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

His thoughts are not our thoughts, and his ways are not our ways. He delights in his creation, and has deigned to give us complete freedom.
