Aasimar
In the Forever War, Aasimar serve as soldiers and are often led by a celestial, a powerful officer or general in the Army of Light, who in turn answer to Shaddai. While celestial blood runs through their veins, the Aasimar are mortal. Though they possess free will, most cannot imagine a life serving anyone other than Shaddai. There is, however, some exception to that rule, as there have been, in times past, those few Aasimar who have fallen to the devices of the enemy, often lured, seduced, or enticed away from the celestial cause, which usually begins with the smallest compromise. Sadly, such Fallen Aasimar are often turned to evil ways, forever chasing that promise, or some goal, that is always just on their horizon, just out of their reach.
A Realm Apart
Kind & Gentle Spirits
Aasimar tend to be kind and gentle souls at birth and are generally lawfully good people. They live true community. If one has need of something, be it food or a little help, the other Aasimar responds without reservation, equivocation, or any expectation of reciprocation. Whatever the need, Aasimar take care of one another, seeing to it that none is left in need. Galedon, their home, is a place of innocence, purity, and unmarred goodness. All are cared for. All have homes, a bed, and plenty to eat. There is little sorrow, pain, or discomfort. It is a place that has never known violence of any kind.
The Army of Light
The Army of Light, the military might of Heaven itself, is made of both Aasimar and Angels, though Those that make the sacrifice to enlist into the Army of Light are hardened through training and experience. Sadly, their return to Ganedon is nearly impossible. The Realm of Light is one of utmost good and purity, and to regain entrance, each Aasimar must come to terms with lives they had taken, and the blood they had spilled. Most find they cannot. While their actions are both warranted and necessary to keep the Ganedon actively resist entrance to those Aasimar hardened by the shedding of blood, and the witnessing of death. Often, when enlisting, the Aasimar knows it is unlikely they will ever again see family and friends left behind. As a result, when Aasimar enlists in the Army of Light, they hold a feast to say good-bye to those newly enlisted.
