Mempheer and Despair are one soul split between two twin bodies.
Despair is much more reserved publicly than her sister. She is introverted, contemplative, and more concerned with magic than rule. Despite this, she maintains a guiding hand over the economy in Pheneter, overseeing the day-to-day actions. On her own time, she toils in exercising her arcane power and exploring its limits.

General Physical Condition
She is in good health, with an average build and metered lifestyle.
Body Features
She is a deep crimson color, her skin shiny like a puddle of blood. The insides of her legs, her stomach, and her chest are all cred as well, though they are faded and not shiny. She has similar skin texture to Mempheer, with scales present, though hers are much less pronounced. Her tail is slightly longer than average and ends in a barb that is a brilliant white color, and she has two black horns that curve upward.

She has rounded features, with a soft, upturned nose.
Physical quirks
She crosses her arms most of the time and doesn't often make eye contact, preferring to focus on items. When channeling potent magic, especially pyromancy, her hair may become chaotic, eventually transforming into raw hellfire.

Personal history
Mempheer was initially an only child, sired of an incubus and an elf. However, the incubus maintained custody of her, noticing something odd. Unwittingly, the being he had courted was a sorcerer with fiendish blood, and a powerful one at that. Seeing the innate energy within the child, he wished to claim it for himself.
He sought out means by which to rend the energy from her soul, finding it in an age-old ritual intended to pull a soul from one body to another, empty body. He made alterations, hoping to split off the power but leave her alive. In his hubris, he successfully pulled part of her soul free. But, in the ritual, he quickly lost control, and with the soul having no body, it selected him. He initially believed himself successful, but as his flesh began to incinerate, he realized his failure. He was nothing but a mere skeleton in moments. In the new-found silence, a creaking could be heard as the skeleton changed shape, its proportions more feminine. Blood leaked out of the spine. travelling outward and slowly creating a liquid body of sorts. The blood set over a few minutes, coalescing into red skin. With that, a new entity was born. In his last moments, the only thing in the incubus' mind was despair, echoing through his head. Thus, Despair took her name from the first word she had known.
She took the child, only two years old, with her as she left the dark ritual room, and in the sandstone city of Pheneter raised Mempheer herself, as if she were her mother. Both inherently knew of the circumstances, so as she grew mempheer was told the story, and began to take shape as a person. Much to her surprise, Mempheer had a very different personality to her own, owing to the half of the soul she contained. While they argued and disagreed, the two exercised their powers. They quickly learned Despair was far more powerful; a result of the failed ritual. She watched her sister's jealousy drive her further, headlong into the public eye, which she did not approve of.
When her sister stopped coming home, she took up a new residence and began practicing her magic in secret, buying and trading tomes to help her explore. She would silence those who threatened her, and kept track of Mempheer by hearing of her exploits
