The Ghvaris Academy
The Arcanas Abjuration, the college of Abjuration
The magic school that teaches abjuration as its only focus is located within the capital city of Norvasul. This school has a large amount of battlemage students whose spells are focused on defense rather than offense. Mages that are sent here often learn the magical rites involved in banishments. In the Ozari times the Ghvaris were the Knight-mages that fought against outsiders and dangerous mages, their order has since fallen into legend save for the academy where they were taught although even it remains largely a mystery.
Purpose / Function
The building now serves as the college for those focusing on the abjuration school of magic. Many of the best abjurers in the world have received training here. Battle-mages are a common group of students taught within the academy.
Alterations
The original Ghvaris were an elite unit of guardians for the Ozari who rode Roc's when battle was necessary, in times of peace they were defenders of law and the crown. Now the great aviaries have been replaced with libraries and study halls.
Architecture
The academy is built into the mountain that supports Castle Skycrest. Many of the facilities of the academy are hidden from sight, save for the most prominent features that extend out beyond the mountain itself in the name of the towers of abjuration which rest on the North, West, and Southern faces of the mountain each with three structural obelisks that help protect the mountain from assault, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. The towers themselves look as if they are upside down and handing by thin bridges, the same goes for the Archmage's tower which slowly orbits the mountain only occasionally meeting a bridge.
