The Dreamer

Nightwind, She-Wolf, Fey-Queen

Alignment: Chaotic Good   Portfolio: Secret Trysts, fulfilling desire and passion, good dreams, & moons   Worshippers: Hedonists, fey, secret lovers   Alignments: CG, NG, CN   Weapon: Desire - Rapier   The Dreamer is the Queen of the fey as such she is a perfect example of a fey. Capricious and dangerous beyond imaging, but also caring and passionate, these characteristics are downplayed in the faith of the Dreamer in most cases with some sects, in particular those with fey leadership being able to give a more accurate accounting of the Queen.   The Dreamer often appears as an elven woman with a pale blue skin tone in a long dress of sheer white with numerous diamonds and moonstones. Her hair goes down to her lower back and is black save for a single lock of bangs which is white. Following behind her is three spheres of light usually one above her head and each shoulder that can take the form of flying serpents if needed.   The Ursandian’s have another name for her and an altogether darker take on the Dreamer. They refer to her as the She-Wolf. She is said to be the mother of Lycanthropes and the winter wolves that plague the nights of Ursand. Her appearance is said to be nearly the same as that of the normal dreamer but with shiny black hair and a human appearance. She is said to come to hunters unfortunate enough to not be in a secure enough building or just out in an Ursandian night. She is said to lead them to a safe cave and breed with them, instead of a child being conceived the hunter would then become a feral werewolf, unable to be cured, or given the means to control themselves. These werewolves will soon find a pack of winter wolves follow them as they stalk through the night, the most worrisome part is that the hunter retains no memory of the event nor a bite mark to show their new fate.   Even outside of Ursand there are many who frown upon the worship of the Dreamer calling them hedonists and deviants in many ways trying to guilt and shame the followers of the Dreamer. This is often done out of a place of jealousy but not always, in either case, the opinion can be popular among villagers as brothels tend to have her iconography featured prominently. Gypsys also tend to follow her and the Wayfarer prominently and as such are looked down upon as hedonistic vagrants.     She is the only god to rule overwhelmingly in favor of polygamy and open relationships, feeling that it is impossible to contain the heart within just one other. This is just another reason for the disdain shown to her followers among certain communities. Other gods are strictly about monogamous marriage. The Dawn King is an example of one who is indifferent to the subject. The Dragon Gods have no concept of monogamy and as such do not have the practice in their faith.

Holy Books & Codes

The Dreamer doesn't have an as of yet written Holy Book, she (as one of the few gods to have a consistent gender) does not feel the need to issue one, as passions are unique to each person and she doesn't want to influence them only encourage that people pursue them.

Tenets of Faith

  • Explore your passions.
  • Never inflict your passions on another only share them.
  • A secret given in confidence shall not be shared.
  • Never accept reality, always dream of what it could be.
  • The simple version of this is only to share your passions with those who are consensual, one of the few taboos of the following is to force someone else into something they don't want. A secret given in confidence should be kept as is the nature of the Dreamer, however, a secret discovered but not told in confidence is fair game to be spread or used as desired. There are two types of secrets, fun rewards that should be sought, and those that are darker or all together harmful that should be left be.Accepting reality brings with it a stagnancy and complacency with life that it can only ever be what is in existence, the Dreamer wants her followers to follow their passions some of those passions are physical and of the flesh while others are to change the world for the better.

Holidays

The Dreamer’s holy day is known as the ‘Lunar Tryst’ many have a problem with the celebration as it calls for a moonlit orgy often wearing masks to hide the identity of the participants. It is a celebration of passion and desires shared under the moonlight while keeping yourself masked or in secret. It is also very common for fey creatures to appear during these orgies. The date of this event tends to vary based on the group practicing the faith and can happen numerous times in a year depending on how events unfold for their followers, it is not uncommon for other celebrations to be tied into a Lunar Tryst.
