Personal history
Born the second child of a concubine, his birth was celebrated. The Offical wife of his father, however, disliked having a possible competition for her son. Once the boy turned six, she dropped him off at the far-off Furtive Jade Sect, under the guise of 'improving his education'. Bingtian didn't even care, he enjoyed running errands for the higher disciples, and learning all about the tricks they used. His power was quickly determined to be genius-level, and he was admitted as an inner disciple within his sixth birth year.
During his stay in the Sect, he rewrote several old seals, making effective new uses for them. Not only that, he proved to be a genius in swordsplay, as well as the Gentlemanly arts. During his 30s, however, he began to notice that there was a serious corruption in his sect, and instead of trying to rout it out, he decided to split and join a different sect. He approached Severing Firefly Sect, which has a history of noble and kind works. He kind of blackmailed Sect Leader Lao Minghui into letting him in, which earned him Lao Xiaojun's ire.
