Millers Hall

A symbol of the community within White Glen, the Millers Hall represents a turning point for the oft neglected village. The coming of the mills finally earned Shattergleam the respect that it deserved within the halls of Light Watch and finally afforded the twilight town a voice within the government. No longer in use, the now silent mill acts as a gathering place where the millers gather to express their concerns to the Hideki family who relays the concerns to the representative in Light Watch.

Purpose / Function

To house the Hideki family and act as a meeting place for all of the millers who work within the borders of the Shattergleam Forest district.

Alterations

Originally the site of the first mill within Shattergleam, the Millers Hall has been converted into a living space for the Hideki family. The old mill still functions but is not often used. A new wing of the hall has been constructed to act as a private quarters for Miller Hideki and his daughter.

Architecture

Built from rough planks and pine wood. The meeting hall is exposed above ground along with the functioning part of the mill. The private quarters are underground as most traditional White Glen buildings tend to be.

History

The Millers Hall was the first mill built within Bastille once the creation of Istishia's Dance was completed. Entrepreneurial and headstrong, the people of White Glen turned the harsh rainy climate of the Shattergleam Forest to their advantage and used the excess waters to run large grindstone mills. This proof of concept mill that used all wooden parts due to the scarcity of metal convinced The Radiant Seat to officially recognize the people of Shattergleam as an integral part of Bastille's economy and gave them more consideration when issuing edicts. This recognition afforded the people of White Glen a representative within Light Watch that could speak directly to Luphilia Othoram.
