Silvermoon Forest
The largest habitation of elves on Bastarre dwell in Silvermoon Forest, an expansive, mostly deciduous, forest south of Haberon and east of the Dragonheart Mountains. Ruled for over a thousand years by King Llwyn and Queen Darsheia, it has gone largely untouched by the fiends since the gate to the Hells was opened. Elven magic, with the help of fae magic, has stood strong against the fiends, and the elven homeland has been a great help to those who might need a brief, or even longer, respite from the denizens of Hell.
Not long after the invasions began, an unlikely alliance, and later, friendship, emerged between the elves and the orcs. Due to an orc of rare honour and determination, Chort the Massive, numerous orcish clans were brought into the forest to take shelter from the fiends and to help defend when the need arose. This proved to be an example that elves and orcs in other areas followed, leading the majority of the two races to become devoted friends.
It is said that some time long before the ascension of the present monarchs in the forest, a past elven queen was given a gift from some mysterious, powerful being that has never been named. That gift changed the fabric of elven magic on Bastarre, which is what led to its current nuances that make it unlike magic in any other place. It was a gift of true and lasting value that still serves the elves against those who find that their magic is no match against this powerful race.
