Hinterlands Common Language

Hinterlands Common is a trade language spoken throughout The Hinterlands. Developed out of a trade pidgin between Aşcalite and Perellian in the latter half of the Second Reckoning, it has since seen standardization and adoption by academies. While the adoption of a common language has aided diplomacy in the Hinterlands, it remains exceedingly common for people, particularly in rural locations, or the commonfolk to not speak the Common Language.
Structurally, the language is similar to Aşcalite both in grammar and syntax. Its lexicon is derived largely from the Perellian Language, where it first saw use beyond a simple trade language.
