Session 45: Scallywags: The Loaned Soul, the Anathema's Son

General Summary

E'krae is in a skiff, the dark midnight sky above him. He had escaped, away from Torth is long friend, his adopted son Thej, his warrior crafter, Gyc. Away from the Horizon's Call, at last, and on to new horizons for him, he the last of Thulkui, he a fallen yuanti pureblood, a runaway, banished from the now lands of Alura. He knows he deserves more, that he needs more, that he desires a better perspective. And, he now has the means to do it, by bartering an ancient dragon heart, by opening a sale of those ancient blood, and maybe the Faces will ignore the dragonborn altogether.
Zoom and poof, and when he looks in front of him, watching the Call leave in the dark, Valia is there next to him, and he panics. E'krae attempts a few moves and kicks to displace Valia off off the boat, and at last, he is successful just by his shear presence. Yet, soon, Valia is is back aboard, the dastardly and insensate sea elf, and she leaps him by the scarf, and he nearly falls in the waters below if not for her awareness of danger. He yells for aid, and Deoy, the and many of the sailors join to attempt an understanding if not an escape of their dear friend, former mate, and future benefactor and lord, where E'krae had presumably made many promises to them. However, Aikhon is able to calm them with his magical and draconic presence, and Roland bags, carrels, and barrels Deoy to make sure the ring leader is properly distracted. G and Torth run to the side, they aid in Valia and her catch to land aboard safely.

Once aboard, Aikhon demands the yuanti explain his haste, his deceit, and his plans for mutiny. E'krae attempts to avoid such consequences, but the revelation of him using the dragonborn refugees as chattel sparks too much rage from the crew, and most keenly from Valia.
A vote is called, and Pojin organizes the white stones of life, the blue for abstaining, and the red for death.

The debate is cut short however, by two movements: Mila interrogates E'krae, and she learns that his contact with the Faces of the Kings is Uhmar Ruhum, a Death Researcher, Inquisitor, and Mastermind behind the dragonborn campaign and apparent culling. Then, afterward, Valia presents a deal to E'krae, a wild idea that she could ensure his soul is saved by the vengeance spirit who has possessed her, as long as he dies by her hands. After some convincing, he agrees, and Valia becomes executioner with Scepsi, Nethpione, and Mila bearing as witness to the judgment done.
