Pencoyt

The Barony of Pencoyt, once the kingdom of Pencoyd, was one of the last regions within the "mounted bounds" to succumb to the unification of the Kingdom of Talanthia. Pencoyd was for a long time a powerful kingdom in its own right, with a number of chieftan-kings of near mythical quality who ruled the lands in the foothills of the northern scarp. For a brief period in the third century, the kingdom of Pencoyd was part of a united kingdom with their longtime rivals, the kingdom of Langsee, when Leopold Elcher married Chloris Pen, heiress of Pencoyd. The tragic ending of that alliance eventually saw the kingdom (in the year 303) ally with the expansion minded Talanthian king, Ribald the Bear, in order to push back the Langseen forces once and for all, while at the same time condemning the kingdom to baronage under the new power of the region.
