Lord Rollo Valvetti
Lord Rollo Valvetti, head of House Valvetti, is one of the Lords of Renelestre on the Privy Council. He and his wife, Daphene, preside over the harrows and the aldgate in the city. He is also the Lord of the Treasury, and therefore also taxation, giving the family an unprecedented level of influence in the city as the prince and privy council must go through House Valvetti to gain access to the treasury funds.
In recent times, however, house Valvetti has retreated from public life, only seen, but rarely, at privy council meetings and other mandatory gatherings of the great houses. With the prince's death, this created a situation in which the privy council must vote in order to continue major decisions in the city, and with a 4 to 3 split of noble houses to guilds, one would quite reasonably assume that the nobles have free reign over the city. This is not the case, however, for in conjunction with Rollo's moderate disappearance, comes a reluctance to cast anything but an abstaining ballot on all major issues, particularly those involving dispersement of treasury funds. The even split that this stance creates has led to a complete grid-lock in all major city projects, and has led the other major factions to find other avenues to maintain a steady revenue.
