Knights of the White Birch
A chivalric order in Renelestre. They serve the Church of the White Hand as what primarily amounts to an errant order. Officially they operate out of Renelestre, but in practice they are fairly well spread across both Parensatia and the continent. Their coat of arms are a white birch tree, on a green and brown field (split lengthwise).

Demography and Population
The Knights of the White Birch have at this time around 400 members, divided into "questing bands" known as "branches," which consist of 5 to 20 members.
Territories
Officially the Knights of the White Birch have dominion in any church ground of the Church of the White Hand, though their primary mode of operation (questing for religious items of significance, protecting church populations under threat) means that they often function outside of the bounds of their "territory" by their very nature, and often exist in an almost itinerant, campaign lifestyle.
Religion
The White Birch are members of the Church of the White Hand, which follows to the teachings of St. Ignacious. That tradition's primary aim is to protect the weak and vulnerable wherever they may be, particularly through military (called here "Interpositionary") might, and to be "Guardians of Light" amongst the darkness. This has sometimes taken the form of protecting vulnerable populations, and at other times meant that they entered into questionable conflicts in a way that in retrospect seems self-serving or needless.
