Tens of thousands of years ago, one of the Archo founders discovered the Blood of History in a site of Ancient Wisdom. It is this sacred ink compound which holds the key to the Archo culture. There living manuscripts can not be written without the Blood of History.

It is common for Dwarves to have tattoos commemorating life events, memories or for artistic desires. Archo society hides their recording of history in these tattoos. Dwarves from the society are selected at birth and tattooed with ink contaminated with the Blood of History. In this way the authenticity of the history recorded on their skin and its secrecy is maintained. in this way a Living Manuscript is created. 

The only way to maintain a viable supply of this material is to take blood from current Living Manuscripts. This can be done as needed or at the end of the Living Manuscript’s life.

Living Manuscripts rarely live long lives as the Blood of History drives them insane, and they are ritually sacrificed by the Archo society before they can become a threat or dangerous to others. Once sacrificed the Living Manuscript is skinned, and the history preserved in a secret place hidden from the Glory of the Realm.

Material Characteristics

The Blood of History is invisible unless there is no other light source. If there is total darkness or if the only light source is the Blood of History then the Blood will self illuminate.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The Blood of History is a mutated modern strain of the Ancient Wisdom Lettco ng'maara. It has all of the properties of this technology, but does not exude from its host.

This substance is only found in Archo hosts, or in ampules stored in the Abbitor-latories of the Archo’s

Life & Expiration

The Blood of History lasts for the lifetime of its host. If it is stored in containers, glass containers are best and the longest time that it will be viable is thirty days. Storing the Blood of History in other containers merely shortens this time.

Trade & Market

There is no trade of market for this substance. It too rare to manufacture and too dear to sell.

Storage

The Blood of history is stored in clear vases and glass containers in the hidden Abittor-latories of the Archo society before being used. Archos have not found a way to store the Blood indefinitely.

Law & Regulation

The Statutes are clear that any Ancient Wisdom that is found is to be left untouched, and its location immediately reported to the Paragons. This material is illegal.
