Mount Mehzim (meh-zeem)
The singular large mountain on the Cursed Island of Mehzim was once a volcano whose nutrient-filled ash created the conditions for a lush rainforest to grow on the island. There are no recorded eruptions of the volcano anywhere in history, though lava flows occasionally found or created mountainside holes through which they seeped.
Like the rest of the island, the mountain itself died when the temple to Khemozh was completed. The magma deep within the mountain cooled, and any semblance of life or activity in the volcano disappeared almost overnight. The mountain now sits as a cold, lonely reminder of the curses and ghosts that reportedly haunt the rest of the island. Its slopes are barren rock without even the slightest hint of vegetation. There are no birds or other animals that call this mountain home. The few who have traveled there and were able to make it back to record their findings have reported that the mountain - and indeed the entire island - is deathly, eerily quiet.
